Cheatham County Community Theater is holding auditions for the musical “Annie Get Your Gun” on Saturday, May 11 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Auditions will be held at Pegram Church of Christ located at 5019 Walkup Rd., Pegram, Tenn.  There are several roles available for adults, teens and children ages 8 and up. Please bring a headshot, if possible, and be prepared to sing a musical number and do some script reading. The play is coming to the stage on July 19,20,21 and July 26, 27, 28 and will be directed by Nicole Arnold.

            In this beloved American classic, Annie Oakley – the best shot around – is persuaded to join the Wild West Show as the novel sharpshooter. She falls head over heels for the show’s headliner, the dashing shooting ace Frank Butler. Annie soon eclipses Butler as the main attraction, bruising his male ego and jeopardizing their romance. Ultimately he’s pitted against Annie in a final shoot-out. The show features toe-tappin’ ditties such as “There’s No Business Like Show Business” and “Anything You Can Do” that hearken a romanticized period in America’s history.
